We began working with local Beekepers in February 2013, learning about their progress and about their needs for further sustainability. Because bees need an organic surrounding forest to produce organic honey, the Beekeepers have a vested interest in maintaining healthy ecosystems in the areas near their farms.  Thus, supporting the local Beekeepers has been one of the main focuses of the project. We supply them with tools, structures, bee boxes, and other necessary appliances to allow them to build their enterprise and reach greater success in sustainability. Further, the project provides the resources so these farmers can build further knowledge in the field by receiving technical advisory regarding commercial strategy, possible derivatives (including pollen, propolis, beeswax, etc), and more efficient practices.
